The Edge 70 Max uses a flatter aluminium-and-glass design that looks cleaner and feels more in line with a modern flagship. It is available in three Pantone-curated finishes and also offers IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, along with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
Display
The 6.8-inch Quad HD+ Extreme AMOLED display is one of the strongest reasons to consider the Edge 70 Max. Its 1440 × 3168 resolution produces noticeably sharper text, photos and videos than the 1.5K panels commonly used at this price, while the refresh rate reaches up to 144Hz.
The panel also supports 10-bit colour, HDR10+ and a claimed peak brightness of 7,000 nits, giving it the clarity, smoothness and outdoor visibility expected from a premium display.
Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is the most important upgrade here. Combined with up to 12GB of RAM, it provides enough performance for demanding games, frequent app switching and heavier everyday workloads.
More importantly, performance no longer feels like the part of the Edge formula that has been held back. The processor is powerful enough to match the high-resolution display and gives the phone stronger credentials for gaming, video editing and longer-term heavy use.

Verdict
The Motorola Edge 70 Max delivers a strong combination of display quality, performance and battery life. Its Quad HD+ panel, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and 7,100mAh battery make it especially appealing for gaming and heavier daily use, while 25W Qi2 magnetic charging adds useful convenience. The 8MP ultrawide and lack of a telephoto lens limit camera flexibility, but as a complete package, this is one of Motorola’s strongest Edge phones in recent years.
